The Nut Tree

On the way home from Tahoe over winter break, John stopped at a shopping center in Vacaville (I think). I'm sound asleep--head back, mouth open, drooling (I'm certain). "Annie! We're here." That was a quick trip home, I think. Oh no, he had other plans. My bleary eyes open to Fenton's, the ice cream parlor! What? Am I dreaming? Who knew there was a second Fenton's in Vacaville and who knew that there was a darling little amusement park behind the shopping center? I didn't. It was a great awakening!

We got our maps and headed into the park. I guess it's been around for ages and used to be a fruit stand on the side of the highway. Now it's a rennovated, beautiful little park. The kids were ecstatic!

Their favorite was the rollercoaster. Owen wasn't tall enough so John and I took turns...

Owen loved the little planes...

Ride 'em cowboy!

Riding on the train was, of course, a thrill...

And everyone found their favorite animal on the merry go round...

Lovely...

(I'm quite proud of this picture, thank you!)

Fun little unexpected stop on the way home. John is full of surprises. One more thing I love about him!

you look to good to be just woken up from drooling! What fun pics. I have been bad about pictures lately. I got out of the habit. What a fun ski day. Damon is taking the girls up this weekend for two days, so sad i will miss it, but there is always next year. I have 6 weeks left!

Well, if John isn't just the most impressive with the random out of the way places. I am so glad he is our go to guy for all things great about the Bay Area!

I love the nut tree. That was always a family stop for us when we were there. Now that Fenton's is there, we make it a stop whenever we come see Megan. Yummy. It is so good.
Love you girl.
