Hannah: "I can't believe you don't like bread!"
Alex: "I just don't."
Hannah: "But it's good for you!"
Alex: "So?"
Hannah: "But it makes your body stronger!"
Alex: "So?"
Hannah: "But if you don't like bread, then how are you supposed to take the sacrament?"
Alex: "I don't."
Hannah: "But you HAVE to take the sacrament! That's how we remember Jesus."
Alex: (so nonchalantly) "I don't need to eat bread to remember Jesus."
Hannah: "But taking the sacrament helps us be the best that we can be, just like Jesus. We can become anything we want to be if we take the sacrament!"
Alex: "So?"
Hannah: (exasperated) "Alex, you are NEVER going to be a builder when you grow up if you don't take the sacrament!"
Alex at a Home Depot workshop last summer.
Don't worry, I force him to take the sacrament and it is a struggle every week, but it is worth it! I wouldn't want anything to get in the way of his eternal progression and potential...whether carpentry or beyond! ;)

I'm not sure where she gets her theories, exactly, but they do make some sense! And they come from a pure place which is very exciting/interesting to see!!
Love your "conversation bits" she is right, he will have a hard time being a builder without taking the sac! :)
That is so funny he doesn't even like a smidgen of bread.
Let me clarify--
He does eat french toast, oatmeal, cracklin' oat bran cereal, waffles, etc., just not plain old bread.
It's annoying!
I think these are my favorite of all of your posts. I love to hear what your kids say. And when you write it down, I really can hear their little voices in my head. So adorable. Love them! Can't wait to see them in a few weeks!
