Conversations...

Alex: "Mommy, mommy, I want you to meet my new pet. His name is Snailey!" (very original)
(shows me a very cute little snail in his palm that has its head lifted way up and his little antennae are perked and rigid)
Me: "Oh, how cute! Look how he has his little head held up so high!"
Alex: "That means he's happy to see you. He's saying hello."
Me: "Oh really?"
Alex: "Yup, I read it in a book."

Later...

Me: "Alex, you need to put Snailey back outside in his natural environment"
Alex: "But it's raining and I don't want him to get wet!"
Me: "But honey, snails love the rain."
Alex: "They do?"
Me: "Yup, didn't you read that in your book??"

Cute conversation. Can't wait to see you all this Thursday. Stein and Gullaug are coming this afternoon and staying with us until Thursday when we leave for your place. It will be great to see them again. Tonight is a recital of Dad's piano students in the Eccles Concert Hall on campus. It's so fun to have the kids play in such a fancy, grown up place. Love you all!
